SVS Oil is a pioneer in the cooking oil industry. 70 years ago a legacy was created, by being the first south Indian company to manufacture refined oils. The name “SVS” has become synonymous in every household and caterer.

The company was started by the edible oil industry stalwart Shri. S.V.Sivalinga Nadar together with his sons, in the year 1986. The family already had two decades of experience in the edible oil industry, and Shri.S.V.Sivalinga Nadar is the ex-director of Madras Vanaspati Public Ltd and was partner in SVS Oil Mills, Tolgate.

The factory was started in Villupuram in the oil seed rich belt of north arcot. S.V.Sivalinga Nadar had a zeal to provide quality oil to his customers and therefore fresh oil seeds were procured from farmers and crushed in house to extract oil. The extracted oil was then refined in a batch type refining plant, packed in consumer packs, and was sold in Chennai, Tindivanam, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Myladuthurai and Thanjavur.

Today, the refining plant is modern, efficient and has end to end machinery for vegetable oil manufacture. To address the growing needs of cold pressed oil in the market, the company has also installed cold press expellers, and wooden cold press extraction machines.

The products are marketed under the brand name ‘SVS’, and it has a strong brand recognition in the market. The different oils that are manufactured are Refined Sunflower Oil, Refined Groundnut Oil, SVS Refined Palm Oil, Filter Groundnut Oil and Sudar / Deepam Oil.

Dedicated chemists are employed to monitor the quality of the oil manufactured, and our laboratory is equipped with state of the art equipments like gas chromatograph to check the quality of the oil procured and refined. In house checks and balances are in place, so that fresh quality oil reaches the households.

We have a very strong market share in markets like Chennai ,Villupuram, Mayiladuthurai, Kumbakonam, Trichy and Madurai. And there are further plans to extend our reach. We also sell online through our e-commerce site and amazon.

The company is accredited with ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 22000, which is the highest quality standard for food processors. Sound quality processes are in place, so that every pack of SVS Cooking has the highest quality standards, that consumers have taken for granted over the years.
